Mumbai, the city of dreams💫💭, bollywood 👠💄and a synonym for development🌃. Mumbai is also one of the biggest, richest and developed cities in the world!

So today we are going to know about one of the accessory of Mumbai, the Worli Sea Link, Bandra or also known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link.🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉🌉

We all know that it is the iconic brige in Mumbai and created a lot of buzz during its construction! 🌌🌌
Now look at this beauty!🌉

Picture courtesy: http://veraneo.livejournal.com/27980.html Without further ado lets us know few mind-gobbling 💫facts about this bridge. So, lets go, shall we??☺
The bridge is considered to be one of the widest bridge in India because it eight-lane bridge which is built on open sea suspended with iron wires!🌉

This bridge's first plan was layed out in 1990's but was only completed in 2010. The delay in the construction is due the Public Interest Litigation's (PIL) filed by fisherman and environmentalist's. These have gone to the Supreme court and undergone few changes!😐

This bridge was designed by Mr. Seshadri Srinivas whose has designed the Jamarat bridge in Mecca and also JJ flyover in Mumbai. But it took him three attempts to finalize this beauty!😐😐😐

This bridge's construction was started in 2000 and completed in 2010 and was open for public use.🚗🚘🚜

This bridge is not free to use, a car travelling on it must pay ₹60 and a LCV must pay ₹90 and heavy vehicles must pay ₹125. Also, bikes are denied entry on this bridge!🚗🚘🚙🚐🚑🚎

This bridge is a total saviour for mumbaikar's because earlier without this bridge it would take 1 to 1 and half hour to reach Bandra from Worli. But due to this one can reach there in around 8 to 12 minutes!😱😱😱

This bridge is 5600 metres long, which means almost 18 Eiffel Towers can be laid down on this bridge.😰😰😵💀

The bridge was initially planned on a budget of 13.06 billion and final cost went upto whopping 16.5 billion!!😵😵

Another mesmerizing fact is that the bridge weighs around 50000 elephants!!😨

Also, if the steel cables used to build this were taken out and laid out, it would cover the circumference (girth) of the Earth !!!! Unbelievable right?😫😫

To build this extraordinary build it took 90,000 ton of cement! That means 9 crore kilograms (kg's) of cement! Also, one steel cable can hold 900 tons of weight!😱😰😨😵

So these were all the facts I could gather about this marvel, the pride of Mumbai and Mumbaikars!💪
Next time you hit Mumbai make sure to see this beauty!👌👍
That is it for today! I will be back tomorrow with another story! Thank you for reading this!👏
